Welcome from the MPP Programme Director
LLSE School of Public Policy
Welcome from the MPP Programme Director

Greetings!

Congratulations! I am delighted that you have received your offer to join the LSE Master of Public Policy programme in September 2022.

The MPP is a highly competitive programme at a world-leading social science university. It is a great achievement to receive an offer and I hope that you are feeling excited and proud that you have secured your place with us.

As a member of the MPP class, you will have the opportunity to learn from and with a diverse group of peers from different countries and backgrounds, all sharing a passion for public policy and shaping the world for the better. You will also be joining a community of academic teaching and learning in which you will engage with the LSE’s great minds and inspiring faculty.

The MPP will challenge you to become more equipped, astute, and confident in the understanding and practicing the ‘craft of government’. You will learn transferable skills and have space to apply them in tackling the big public policy problems of today and tomorrow .

This will also be an opportunity to develop your transferable skills as a policy professional. We will help you reflect on your career path to date, boost your current trajectory, explore possible new horizons, and prepare you for practical next steps.

In the coming months we will send you regular updates to help you prepare for September and give you a taste of life on the programme. You can also access lots of useful information on our offer holder webpage.

We also invite you to follow us on social media Linkedin and Instagram to see what our students, alumni and faculty are up to.

You can request to join our MPP Linkedin group here to connect with alumni, current students and offer holders.

In the summer, we will also send you preparatory readings and online learning materials to get you ready for the start of the programme. We hope this will be an excellent way of helping you to prepare for joining us in September and to ensure you feel part of our MPP community prior to arrival.

Our MPP team are available via mpp@lse.ac.uk to help answer your questions or to refer you to the appropriate part of LSE. If you would like to write to me directly about any academic aspects of the programme, then please email me at the address below my signature. Our Graduate Admissions Team remain available to answer any queries you may have about the admissions process and how to accept your offer.

I look forward to getting to know you and we hope to see you in September!

Best wishes,
